Description: This amazing festoon-chain butterscotch amber necklace has a hook and eye closure. It has a 22” chain, 11” on each side. The chains dangle another 2.” Three pieces of amber are tastefully placed on each side. The beads are awesome and have varying degrees of light and debris. READ: There is an issue I found with one top bead that looks damaged, possibly from a hot needle test. It took me several years to find this with my loupe, so it is not obvious, especially as amber has natural inclusions. fYI: Butterscotch amber was historically saved for royalty until more sources of petrified tree resin were found, but is still more valuable than some other colors. Made at the Amber Factory in Kalingrad, Oblast, Russia and signed .ORK with a backwards R. The chain looks as if it is plated (see marks on hook and eye clasp) but I do not know the metal content. I see no stamp that would indicate gold plate on silver. One photo shows mild fluorescence under a UV light.
