Description: I've displayed this cast iron string holder/dispenser for many a year however I believe it to be just vintage as the bottom is stamped Taiwan. It's probably a reproduction of the kind that would sit on a general store counter to hold string used to tie up brown paper packages. It's about 5.5" tall and in two pieces. About 3.5" across the middle. The top part latches onto the bottom on both sides. There's a loop at the top for the string to come out of. Base sits upright smoothly. It does have some rusty spots. I've included photos all around! I've used it with the old thread spool shown ( and it's included) but would be fun at Christmas with a ball of red yarn inside!
