Description: Very rare vintage (31 year old) original July 23rd, 1993 Nirvana New Music Seminar Concert Poster. This is a genuine screen printed original and not a reproduction and I purchased it from the original and only owner about a decade ago. Please compare to photos 2 and 3 which are of an auction for the same original poster (but in very poor condition with green sun faded to blue and staining) which sold for $1700 plus premium on May 29th, 2024. Our example is incredibly well preserved and has been kept out of the sun. See below for condition details. Also, from my understanding, the originals did not have the number 40 printed on them. On a side note my father was involved in tour managing for rock groups in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s and actually attended several new music seminars. Please see my other listing for an original pass to the 1985 New Music Seminar in New York City! This poster is historically important for several reasons. First, it is from their tour to promote what would be Nirvana's final studio album In Utero. Second, the concert took place in New York's Roseland Ballroom where Frontman Kurt Cobain would suffer an overdose prior to the show, his wife Courtney Love resuscitated him with naloxone and Cobain would go on to perform with the concert goers completely unaware of the prior situation. In Excellent condition considering age and rarity. Screen print poster with gentle imperfections in the ink from printing. Some gentle creasing in areas and remnants of tape residue along the right edge. Gentle staining to bottom left corner. Tac holes. Very well preserved. Protected behind glass and framed in a black stainless steel frame and ready to hang. Frame shows gentle scuffing and wear. Measures 22” x 14” and 22 1/4” x 14 1/4” with the frame.
