Description: This is a beautiful reproduction of a china head doll. The artist made the head, body and clothes. There are a couple tags on the body that say "Doll body by Margaret of Paris Illinois". She comes with a note on her brief history stating that she was made in the summer of 1965 by a Mrs. James (Margaret) Mills of Paris, Illinois. She is marked on the note as being Mary Todd Lincoln. The doll itself is in amazing pristine condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. The flowers on her head are glued on fabric flowers. There are several layers of underclothes. Only one piece, the corset, has stains which are from where the doll stand was positioned to hold her up during display. All other pieces are clean, tear and stain free. Some have very small delicate buttons. Her velvet purple top dress does have some tearing around her neck on the black lacing (see photos). The fan she holds, is sewn onto the dress and isn't broken so much as some pieces might be out of place. It was originally tied around her wrist but I could not get it back on correctly. She also has a petticoat with an underwire to make her dress flair and she comes with a doll stand. Measurements of head plate are approx. 6" from top of head to bottom of plate and 5" from shoulder to shoulder.
