Description: This is a vintage Schrade Walden NY "butter and molasses" 234K 2-blade jack knife. Made in USA! The knife was likely made some time between 1961-1974 based on the fact that it has plastic Delrin handle covers and not celluloid, which was used in earlier years. The handle covers are good and tight, and except for one small crack under the middle pin on the show side (see photos), the handles are in great shape---the covers are firmly fixed in place with no movement at all. This knife is smooth and tight; the blades have no wobble at all and are very snappy. The blades (large clip and small pen) are carbon steel and have plenty of patina but no rust. The blade centering is just about perfect for both blades. The pins and liners are brass, and the bolsters and shield are nickel silver. This knife has been used, but it's a real beauty! The handle covers are fantastic, and the fit and finish is excellent. This knife could still be carried every day, but it would be a great addition to any collection.
