Description: I know that it doesn’t make sense for a vintage item to be “NEW” but really I’m sure this piece has been hung in one place for decades. I dusted it off and there is ZERO sign of wear. I really love the imagery in this painting, it depicts the Wells Fargo Overland Stage out of Salt Lake City in the Civil War era when a robbery shut down the route momentarily. Clearly this is NOT the original canvas work famously painted by Harland Young in 1969. It is a lithograph poster print that is then transferred onto this pine backing. The image itself is a little bit translucent which gives the Mesa in the background a ghostly shimmer. The action is incredible at this scale and you can feel the excitement and terror of the situation. This was the piece de resistance at the recent closure of a western collector and enthusiasts estate. I have searched high and low for another one and have found COUNTLESS reproductions of this image. This one is hands down THE COOLEST one I have seen. Let me put it this way… a tough one to put up for sale! The wood plaque measures 50.5” x 27”. The walnut stain on the scalloped edge gives it an authentic western vibe that makes this piece earn its place wherever it is hung.
