Description: Rio-92 / 30 Posters on Environment and Development In 1992, the world did not use the internet, e-mails, computers, etc., technologies that were beginning to emerge. The 30 Posters on Environment and Development project was entirely produced by telephone calls, faxes, and express mail. And it worked perfectly! The exceptional list of designers invited then included some of the most important figures in the history of design, such as Neville Brody, Rubén Fontana, Lech Majewski, and Shigeo Fukuda, true contemporary icons. This 30-poster collection traveled the world through exhibits in numerous museums, cultural centers, and design biennials. It was also the subject of articles in several international magazines and newspapers, as well as all kinds of design publications. Maurice Strong, then the United Nations Secretary-General for Rio-92, declared in the catalog: “Judging by the creation of these designers, we can conclude that the combination of progress and environmental preservation, as stated by the Earth Charter commitment, is a possible goal.” The ECO 92 poster, created by Portuguese designer Joao Machado, was one of the 30 posters. It is printed on one side on gloss paper stock and has been stored in a flat file since 2005. It is in excellent condition. The poster will be mailed in a sturdy cardboard game. Smoke-free home.
