VTG HOMER LAUGHLIN GRAVY BOAT "BLUE MEDALLION" OR "CHATEAU" EMPRESS SHAPE RARE

Description: This is a rare Vintage Homer Laughlin Gravy Boat/Sauce Boat in the Empress Shape which I have found with several pattern names ~ "Blue Medallion", "Chateau", and "Blue Ring". Empress shape was made as early as 1913 until approximately 1940. It features darker blue trim at the top around the rim, down the center of the handle, and another blue ring 1/2" down from the center of the boat where it is met by the blue medallions, on each side, of roses and scrolls. It measures 7 1/8" end of spout to end of handle; 2 7/8" wide in the center; 3 1/4" in height at tallest point (top of handle). There is barely a flea bite inside or out. There is no crazing. It is shiny, glossy, immaculate. It has a hairline crack at the handle ~ the bottom of the handle at the top which goes through to the inside. Please see last 4 pictures. The handle remains intact and stable. The crack does not extend to the bottom portion of the handle, just the top. Examine all pictures carefully. This is a piece that I was not able to find anywhere except in one book "Homer Laughlin A Giant Among Dishes 1873~1939", A Schiffer Book, on page 116; and a reference to this exact piece on another site, referring to the book "An Overview of Homer Laughlin Dinnerware", pp 50~51.
