Description: VTG Homer Laughlin Skytone Blue Covered Casserole Jubilee Shape Serving Bowl MCM Beautiful Blue Skytone Covered Casserole with snow white handles and finials for charm and elegance. The clay itself is blue on the Skytone and this piece just has a clear glaze over it. This blue and detailing is classic mid century modern! Skytone is essentially the Jubilee shape made in a blue body with contrasting white handles and finials. For other items with handles such as the casserole base and all the lids, the handles were already made separately so no further modifications were necessary. Skytone was offered by various retailers and was a good seller all though the 1950s. Pieces can be found plain or with decals. Almost all of the Skytone decals are highly stylized floral treatments that resemble one another. Though produced for over ten years, there aren't very many different Skytone decals when compared to the vast number used by other decalware. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Very minor factory glaze on this piece from factory production on side. Appears to have little to no use or utensil marks - very clean piece! Handles and finials are beautiful.
