VTG Taxco Mexico Abalone Sterling Cuff Bracelet Los Castillo Mid-Century Mexican

Description: Gorgeous mid century Taxco abalone shell and sterling silver cuff bracelet by Los Castillo. This is an early piece from the Los Castillo Mozaico Azteca line. An elegant rope design with a skillful and brilliant inlay of abalone shell in excellent vintage* condition with no issues or flaws as far as I can see. The Mozaico Azteca line was produced from the 1950s to the 1970s. This particular bracelet, however, has to have been made prior to 1955 because it has a delineated eagle stamp which the Mexican government required on silver jewelry made in Mexico from 1948 to 1955 (after that, the government required a different eagle stamp before eventually switching to a different hallmarking system around 1970). Inside length of the cuff measures 5-3/4" (approximately 14.6 cm) with an opening of 1-1/4" (3.2 cm) for a total inside circumference of 7" (approximately 17.8 cm). The width of the bracelet is 5/8" (approximate .6 cm) There are three separate hallmarks on disks along the inside front of the bracelet: MOZAICO AZTECA 211; STERLING MADE IN MEXCIO with a delineated eagle stamp and the center and possibly the number 15 at the center of the eagle; and TAXCO LOS CASTILLO *Vintage and/or antique merchandise may have some degree of visible wear and/or patina.
