WWII paper case shotgun ammunition was initially delivered to the government in 25 round cartons, exactly as sold in the civilian market, but with a "US Property" stamp on the box. Later, the shells began to be packed at the plant in military-contract 10 round boxes, probably for ease in issue in the field, and for long-term storage in M10 spam cans. The 12 gage shells used by the US Navy and Army Air Forces for aerial gunnery training during the war were all of the paper-cased variety made by Federal, Peters, Remington, Western, US Cartridge, and Winchester in NO 4 and NO 8 Chilled Shot. Each "Buy It Now" single purchase is for two unassembled cartons with a Western Cartridge Co. No 8 CHILLED SHOT label. The lot numbers are hand stamped on the labels prior to shipping, either matching my original boxes, or if you prefer, I can match the lot number of a spam can or crate that you may have. The cartons will be shipped flat, with assembly instructions. I had a lot of these made, so if you want multiple sets, just change the auction quantity before you click on the "Buy It Now" button.
