Description: I have three pattern peso coins for sale at this time. This is the same person that made the patterns I am selling. Rare item to have. Check out my pattern coins for sale. Here is an extremely rare piece of Philippine history. This is a lead die strike prototype for a Ferdinand E. Marcos One Peso pattern coin. Very few of these lead test pieces can be found, as most were destroyed. There is an artists stamp in the bottom left corner that says "EL ORO" and under that is the artist J. J. TUPAZ, JR. In the opposite diagonal corner is stamped the artists name, J. J. TUPAZ, JR. which is next to what looks like two zeros from possibly a different trial strike of another prototype medal. You can see the artists initials on the lower neck, JT. The last photo just shows one of the medals he made and a small description of J. J. Tupaz and EL ORO. (This medal is not included, just to show some of his work). This is a uniface strike, so there is no impression on the other side. It's about 2 1/4" square and weighs 44.6 grams. Don't miss out on a rare piece of Philippine history. Thanks for your interest. Good luck!
